Boulder Junior Cycling is looking for passionate, energetic coaches to help inspire young riders and grow the next generation of cyclists! If you love riding bikes, working with kids, and being part of an incredible community, this is your chance to make a difference.
BJC has been a leader in junior cycling for nearly 20 years, developing young riders in a fun, supportive, and skill-focused environment. Our programs emphasize safety, skill progression, and most of all – stoke!
We offer flexible, part-time coaching positions ranging from 5 to 20+ hours per week for all youth age groups and experience levels. Whether you’re an experienced coach or just love working with kids and bikes, we’ll provide the training and mentorship to help you succeed.

Seasons & Schedule:
We have 3 distinct seasons: Coaches can choose one, or several seasons:
- Spring: April – May
- Summer: June – July
- Fall: Sept. – Nov.
Practice Times:
- School Year: 4:30 – 6:30 pm, 2-4 days per week
- Summer: 8:00 am – Noon, 2-4 days per week
- Saturday Mornings: 8:00 am – Noon (Optional)
Coaching Positions Available:
🚴 Assistant & Lead Coaches – Help riders develop skills, confidence, and a lifelong love for cycling.
🚴 Program Coordinator (Young Devo, ages 6-8) – Lead and grow our youngest program with creativity, fun, and a passion for working with kids. Practices are 1-2 evenings per week plus Saturday mornings. This position has potential to grow to 20+ hrs/week.
💡 Key Responsibilities:
- Coach & mentor young riders – teach fundamental and advanced cycling skills
- Promote safety, skills, and stoke!
- Encourage a love of cycling and teamwork
- Work closely with an awesome coaching staff
- Follow BJC’s high safety standards
- Typical workload is 5-10 hrs/week, and up to 20+ hrs/week
🔹 Qualifications:
- Strong mountain biking skills & knowledge of Boulder County trails
- Experience coaching, teaching, or working with kids (preferred)
- Positive attitude, great work ethic, and a love for cycling
- Basic bike maintenance skills
- First Aid, CPR, & SafeSport certified (BJC will cover training)
