FALL PROGRAM LINE UP: Please study the details about each individual program before you sign up.

Young Devo: Age 6-8. Sept. 7 – Oct. 30 (8 weeks.) Practice one day per week. Choice of weekday (TBD) afternoon, or Saturday morning. (Program details are still to be finalized.) Registration postponed. Will open Wednesday, Aug 11 at 7:00 a.m.

Cyclocross Devo: Age 8-13. Aug 30-Nov. 18 (12 weeks.) Choose Tues/Thurs or Mon/Wed. 4:15 – 6:15 pm. (Must be age 8 on Sept. 1st) One of our most popular programs, cyclocross is the perfect tool for developing bike skills and getting started with racing. A CX bike is not needed. This program is highly recommended and a cornerstone of BJC.

High School Cyclocross aka Hoogerheide Team: Aug. 30 to Dec. 12 (15 weeks.) This is the continuation of our High School Red Squad and includes all the coaching, mentorship, and team building that make our athletes so successful. Practice is Tues & Wed. 4:15-6:15 pm. (Contact us with questions about blending w/ High School MTB teams.) Registration is open now here.

CX High Intro Program: For high school-aged MTB riders who are new to cyclocross. Practice on 6 Mondays from Sept. 14 – Oct. 19, 4:15 – 6:15 pm. Athletes may move to Hoogerheide Team once they develop the necessary skills. (Contact us with questions about blending w/ High School MTB teams.) Registration is open now here.

Shredders Enduro Team: Athletes are asked to complete a non-competitive application process, deadline is July 28. Fall season Aug. 16 to Oct. 6, (7 weeks) practices Mon/Wed 4:30-6:30 pm. Minimum 130 mm of rear travel is required. (We suggest you register for another BJC program as a backup if your Shredders application is pending.)

Devo MTB: Age 11-14. Aug. 30 – Oct. 28 (9 weeks.) Choose Tues/Thurs or Mon/Wed. Riders must have a minimum of 26” wheels, disc brakes, and be age 11 on Sept. 1. If you are under age 11 we strongly recommend our popular Cyclocross Program in the Fall Season for all-around bike skills development in a games-based format ,ideal for age 8-14. (CX bike isn’t needed, MTB is fine.) Due to limited availability BJC reserves the right of selective admission for group compatibility.

Important Update on the Devo MTB Program for Fall Season

We are currently working through operational logistics for the fall season of the Devo MTB program. If you are interested in this program, please keep reading for important details.

On Wednesday July 28, at 7:00 am, a modified registration will open for the fall season of the Devo MTB program, but we will not collect fees at this time and will not be filling the roster. Instead you are asked to “register your interest in the program” and add your name to a list that we will work from. This will allow us to better gauge interest, identify our coaching needs, and avoid over promising what we can deliver.

Everyone who registers their interest will be updated regularly in the coming weeks regarding next steps.

Please note: the Fall Devo MTB Program is for ages 11-14 only (must be age 11 on Sept. 1) and participation is very limited. Registering your interest does not guarantee you a spot in this program.

Meanwhile, the Devo Cyclocross Program for age 8-14 is on track and registration opens Wednesday, July 28, at 7:00 am. You can transfer your cyclocross registration payment to the MTB Devo program at a later date if spots are available and with coach permission.

We strongly recommend the cyclocross program in the fall season for all-around bike skills development, fun, and team camaraderie. Unanimously, BJC coaches agree that cyclocross is the best way to further develop cycling skills for this age group. Coaching is exceedingly hands on, with extensive repetition and feedback on the fundamentals that will create better riders. Cyclocross provides the foundation to excel in all cycling disciplines, including xc, downhill, enduro, and road racing. A cyclocross bike is not required, many kids ride their MTBs.
