BJC Alumni Network Newsletter

October 2025

Alumni Network!

Welcome to the next iteration of the BJC alumni network newsletter! We are excited to keep sharing what BJC is up to and news about all our amazing alums. From amazing races to career growth we are stoked to share how all our members continue to shine even after they’ve left the day to day of BJC! Remember to reach out and share your experiences so we can all know how awesome you are!

BJC News & Events

  • The Boulder Cup is Back!

After a 4-year hiatus, BJC is bringing UCI cyclocross back to Valmont Bike Park on November 15–16, 2025. Day 1 is a C1 and Day 2 is a C2. Expect elite racing, Jr. UCI races, and a full amateur schedule. Alumni are invited to volunteer, spectate, or race! Event webpage.

  • 2025 BJC Bike-A-Thon

The Bike-a-Thon is our fundraising campaign where kids raise money during the season to support their team. Our fundraising goal this year is $30,000! To reach this goal, BJC athletes ages 8+, across all cycling disciplines, are encouraged to collect donations from their community. Cash and checks (to BJC) are also accepted.

Alumni Racing & Adventures

6 BJC alums for the Mountain Bike World Championships!

  • Bjorn Riley (XC/Short track Elite)
  • Ben Bravmen (Jr XC/Short track)
  • Michaela Thompson (Marathon Elite), chosen but unable to participate due to injury.
  • Kate Lawrence (Enduro)
  • Maddie Munro (XC/Short track Elite)
  • Maylei Leaneagh (Downhill)

Luke Walter and honorary alum Kaya Musgrave are taking on the European cyclocross season with the Pure Energy Drink / Haro Bikes CX Team, based in Germany just over the border from the Netherlands. They’ve already lined up for their first UCI races of the season, with Luke scoring a big win at Montana Thunder Cross before heading over.

Racing a full cyclocross season in Europe is one of the raddest challenges we can imagine—and we’re sending them all our support and cheers from Colorado!

Jorja Bond traveled to Vermont for the Green Mountain Stage Race, where her team had a standout performance with three stage wins, the green jersey, and 2nd overall in the general classification. She also took part in the historic first women’s edition of the Maryland Cycling Classic. After a gap year, Jorja has now started college at the University of York in England. She isn’t alone abroad—fellow alum Thayer Ask is a freshman at University of Nottingham, and Jorja’s sister Keira Bond is continuing her studies at  University of Sheffield

Collegiate MTB Nationals – Next Weekend!
Collegiate Mountain Bike Nationals are just around the corner at Powderhorn Resort, and we are thrilled to cheer on our BJC alumni who will be competing! We’re so proud of every BJC rider who continues their cycling journey into the college ranks.
