2015 BJC Road Team

Informational Meeting and Kick-Off!

The 2015 Road Program Descriptions:

Boulder Junior Cycling is a USA Cycling Center of Excellence. It is a comprehensive and sequential program that develops junior cyclists so they can excel in cycling competition.

Road – Stagiaire

This program is for Juniors (ages 14-18) who have mastered the competencies in the Road Devo 1 program, are racing at the Cat 3 level, are high-school aged and who want to be a part of a demanding, competitive, traveling team. Emphasis is on excelling in competition, producing state and nationals champions, and preparing young cyclists to progress to very competitive amateur and professional cycling. Participation is by invitation.

Stagiaire program includes:

* Pre-season team rides beginning in February.

* Twice a week coaching sessions beginning March 10 and ending August 11, approximately 40 sessions.

* Coaching sessions after school until summer break, then in the morning.

* Professional, USAC certified coach.

* Eight local team races and six travel team races.

* Team races include coaching, a coach led pre-ride, race support.

* Travel and participation at USAC Amateur Road National Championship included in team fees this year!

* Two BJC team kits (jersey, bibs).

* Team deals on products and gear (Giant, Retul, Shimano, Mavic, Stages, Clement, Fizik, Rudy Project, Skratch, Cliff , Training Peaks and more).

* Training camp in Moab, March 25 – 29 (additional cost).

* $1200

Road Devo

Devo 1 – Juniors (ages 10-18) with more than 2 years of cycling experience and who have mastered the Devo 2 competencies. This program focuses on developing racing skills and rider fitness, learning how to develop a training plan, and learning more in depth team tactics

Devo 2 – Juniors (ages 10-18) with 2 years or less of cycling experience start in this program which focuses on fun, safe riding, and learning the rules of racing as well as basic team strategies and tactics

Devo 1 and 2 programs include:

* Twice a week coaching sessions beginning March 31 and ending August 11, approximately 36 sessions.

* Coaching sessions after school until summer break, then in the morning.

* Professional, USAC certified coach.

* Four local team races and two travel team races, though riders can race at any race during the season.

* Team races include coaching, a coach led pre-ride, race support.

* Team kit (jersey, bibs).

* Team deals on products and gear (Giant, Retul, Shimano, Mavic, Stages, Clement, Fizik, Rudy Project, Skratch, Cliff , Training Peaks).

* $650
