The BJC CX season starts Monday August 26th. Right now we are planning the kick off event for the week before.

Placement for the D1 & D2 teams will be by the coaches. The stagiarie team is by invitation only.

 

Two IMPORTANT NOTES:

 (1): TEAM CLOTHING – The price of the team clothing is no longer included in the program fees. You must purchase your clothing through the Panache team store.

Enrollment and team fees will be collected through the Panache team store in July.

(2) WORK DEPOSIT-  We have found that BJC requires quite a bit of volunteer commitment to keep our program running. We are instituting a work deposit this year to facilitate our volunteer program. Volunteer opportunities will include Boulder Cup Course Marshal, Boulder Cup Beer Garden, Colorado Cross Classic Beer Garden, School Yard Cross plus some other opportunities.

Developmental Rider Levels: Two training options (for stagiaire, scroll down)

  • Devo 2  (Tier II) – younger/fast/less experienced (~ age 8 – 11)
  • Devo 1 (Tier I) – older/faster/more experienced (~ age 12 – 19; Race age 13-14 and up)

 

Two Developmental Training options

Full Season Option:

The season will be broken into 2 distinct sections. The first half occurs before Daylight Savings ends and will take place outdoors after school. After Daylight Savings training will be indoors, one day a week,  at either the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine or FasCat. Some Saturday sessions will also be included if there is no team race.

  • First half of the season – August 26th to October 31
  • Practices: Two times per week, Tuesday and Thursday 4:15 to 6:15 PM.
  • Locations: Various Boulder Parks – see the BJC web site calendar for each ride start location.
  • Races: On the weekends – two -Team Races- per month, with race coachinG and support
  • Second half of the season  – November 4th through Nationals in January – Indoor at BCSM or FastCast. One Practice per week with some Saturday Practices on non-race weekends.
  • Cost for Full Season: $665

 

Core Season only Option: 

  • First half of the season, August 26th to October 31
  • Practices: Two times per week, Tuesday and Thursday, 4:15 to 6:15 PM.
  • Locations: Various Boulder Parks – see the BJC web site calendar for each ride start location.
  • Races: On the weekends – two -Team Races per month, with race coaching and support.
  • Cost for Core Season: $435

  • You need a bike (CX or MTB) and helmet.

Stagiaire Level Training-

 

The Stagiaire team is by invitation only. A specialized training program has been developed with careful attention to the unique needs of the advanced Cyclocross racer.

Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons

The season will be broken into 2 distinct sections.

The first half occurs before Daylight Savings ends and will take place outdoors after school. The Tuesday session will mostly consist of advanced skill training. The Wednesday session will include a hard cardio workout and a mock race.

After Daylight Savings ends, training will be indoors, one day a week, at either the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine or FasCat. Some Saturday sessions will also be included if there is no team race.

 

  • First half of the season – August 26th to October 31
